About Roamio
A travel publication, not a listicle farm.
Roamio is a small independent travel publication that believes places are not products. We publish long-form destination guides and travel stories, and we credit every single photograph we use.
Our Mission
To make travel writing worth reading again — one destination, one writer, one unhurried guide at a time.
Editorial Principles
How we work.
One writer per guide
Every destination is written by one person who has been there recently. No AI rewrites, no aggregated paragraphs, no ghostwritten filler.
No ranked lists
We don't publish top-10s. We publish destination guides, one at a time, because places aren't products and travel isn't a leaderboard.
Photography, credited
Every photo on Roamio is hotlinked from Unsplash and attributed to its photographer with a working profile link. This is not optional.
Photography Partners
Every photograph on Roamio is sourced from the Unsplash community.
We do not own a single photograph on this site. Every image is hotlinked
directly from images.unsplash.com
— never downloaded, never rehosted, never cropped without attribution.
Every photograph displays a visible caption crediting its photographer, and
every photographer name and the word “Unsplash” in that caption
is a hyperlink back to the photographer’s profile and to Unsplash
respectively, with utm_source=roamio and utm_medium=referral
appended per the
Unsplash API guidelines.
We do this because it is the right thing to do, and also because photographers are the reason anyone would want to come to Roamio in the first place. If you see a photograph on our site you love, please click through to the photographer. They are the people who made our editorial possible.
Roamio is a production API consumer of Unsplash. Thank you to every photographer whose work has appeared on this site.
